笔架为黄花梨质地，色泽赭红，微雕微琢取天成之形，保留花梨木自然纹理，选材考究，造型别致，立意新颖，为明代文人书法雅玩之物。在宋明时人则皆称为笔格。唐宋以前，笔架主要用玉石制作，且多以山峰形为定式。明代屠隆在《文具雅编》中记载的笔架质地已有各色玉雕、铜鎏金、仿古铜、哥窑、定窑、奇楠与老树根之类。此笔架呈山子形，以黄花梨木制作，材质精良高贵，纹理细密美仑，是文房中得收藏精品。 参阅：浙江诸暨市博物馆藏 南宋庆元六年 西元1201年 石雕笔架
