Dimensions: 6-1/4" H x 14-1/4" Dia. Chinese Ming Dynasty Period, blue and white bowl. The porcelain potted with a shallow body, slight deep, broad cavetto, with a straight opening lip, raised on a small round, with slight concave footing. The exterior decorated with hand-painting in cobalt under glazed blue, depicted with abundant chrysanthemum flowers blooms, scrolling foliage, enclosed with double fine blue rings lines and scrolling interlocking tendril. The glaze appearance on the blue painting resembled the texture of an orange peel ju-pi (chu-pi) or a chicken skin. The underside unglazed, revealed the pale-creme ground revealed and dark grayish brown spotted firing marks and edge-cut foot rim.
