18th century Naturalistically carved in relief as two lotus pods with circular seeds, with a beetle clambering on top, borne on curling stems issuing a blossoming lotus bud, further flower and furled lotus leaves to the base and side of the pods, the opaque greyish-white stone with dark and beige inclusions, wood stand. 11.5cm (4 1/2in) wide.
