Attributed to Namikawa Yasuyuki (1845-1927) of Kyoto, Meiji era (1868-1912), 1880s Intricately worked in gold wire with opaque and translucent enamels with a continuous design, the body with a central wide band decorated with three ho-o birds in flight between stylised flowers on a black ground, the top with a narrow band of repeated petals on a tight whorl-patterned ground, the bottom with triangular panels enclosing similar foliate motifs on a ground flecked with aventurine; unsigned. 10.2cm (4in) high.
