By Namikawa Yasuyuki (1845-1927) of Kyoto, Meiji era (1868-1912), late 19th/early 20th century Finely worked in gold wire and decorated with two sparrows perched on tall stems of windswept bamboo, three further sparrows in flight shown on the reverse, on a lustrous black ground, applied with a shakudo foot and rim; the base signed on a silver tablet Kyoto Namikawa. 16.5cm (6½in) high.
