By Namikawa Sosuke (1847-1910), Meiji era (1868-1912), late 19th/early 20th century Delicately worked in musen shippo (wireless enamel) and decorated with a white musen plumage cockerel on a slightly graduated taupe ground, its comb and wattles in red musen and its talons, beak and eye outlined in silver wire, the interior of plain aubergine enamel, applied with a shakudo rim, the base signed in thick silver wire with the Sakigake mark of Namikawa Sosuke; with a custom-made cloth-bound storage box. 4cm x 12.6cm x 10.5cm (1½in x 5in x 4 1/8in).
