While the female nude is modeled with closed brushstrokes, the meadow, the bushes, and the forest are rendered loosely and more freely with visible brushstrokes. Female nudes reclining were very popular in the art of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. In this case, the goddess of flowers and Spring is probably represented.
