A SILVER MOUNTED TIGER SKULL SMOKER'S SET Thailand/Siam, around 1920. Attributed to ALEX & COMPANY, BANGKOK. The tiger skull mounted with silver elements as a smoking set. Fitted with an embossed match holder, multiple removable compartments and an ashtray as well as striking surface to light the matches. Further embellished with silver repousse mounts depicting elephants. With an integrated silvered metal base. Condition: Very good condition with expected surface wear. Provenance: From the collection of an aristocratic family in Thailand. Thereafter collection of The Zelnik Istvan Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above.
