Reference 2508 featured centre seconds and Reference 2509, as with the current lot, has subsidiary seconds. Both references were only in circulation for a relatively short amount time making with the current lot is an earlier example dating from 1955 with a 2nd Series dial. Of these larger sized Calatravas only 20 examples in stainless steel are known to the market of the 2509 making this a particularly unusual and rare vintage Calatrava.
