A very rare mid 19th century one-piece style carriage clock with blue and white enamel decoration Stevenard Horloger Mecanicien a Boulogne sur Mer Surmounted by a turned handle with blue enamel decoration over a large inspection panel with repeat button through the glass, the uprights similarly decorated and sitting on a plinth base, the signed white enamel rectangular Roman dial with minute track and blued-steel moon hands, the movement with engraved barrels and fully engraved backplate with blued-steel repeat work in the upper right hand corner, the lever platform escapement with gilt mono-metallic balance and engraved cock, striking the hours on a bell mounted underneath the case. 14cms (5 1/2ins) high (1) Footnotes: Pierre Stevenard (1801-1883) was a fine maker of automata and moving dolls, often set with clocks. His automata masterpiece was in the form of a wizard within a palace; it was exhibited in Paris and was visited by King Louis Philippe.
