One liter stein has a pewter lid floral designs and scrollwork with an Ivory ground and green and brown accents. Theme of the stein is of a 17th century German soldier blowing a bugle. Two figures on either side are of maidens with one having a bugle also. The base has "Behut dich Gott" or translated "Godspeed". Handle is a vine with hops and leaves. Bottom is stamped Germany, 899, 7 and a triangle. Second stein is a half-liter stein with "Craft of Oberstein" flanked by two maidens with hops hop leaves. Stein has a pewter decorative lid with a cornucopia for the thumb lift. Stein has scroll work incised around base and frieze band. Base has 1534 and 18 stamped into base. Third stein is a half-liter without lid and Gambrinus character and hops decorating the stein. Base stamped Germany. Dimensions are: 1 Liter: 12 1/2 inches tall X 5 1/8 inches diameter; 31.75 cm tall X 13.01 cm diameter. Half Liter with top: 10 3/4 inches tall X 4 1/4 inches diameter; 27.30 cm tall X 10.79 cm diameter. Half Liter without lid: 6 1/2 inches tall X 3 5/8 inches diameter. All measurements are approximate. Condition: One liter stein has a repaired pewter top that is loose. Provenance: From a private South Carolina collection.
