Two piece bench made Georgian style breakfront by Ruppert Kohlmaier Sr. Comes with original receipt from July 13th, 1943. Ruppert Kohlmaier (1905-2002) was born outside Munich in 1905 immigrated to the US, already a master cabinet maker he settled in New Orleans and opened his shop in the 1930's. Kohlmaier became a staple for fine furniture in New Orleans and still operates today. Doors feature Gothic wood tracery with key locks in front of solid wood shelving. Top three drawers are felt lined for silver and five large drawers. Comes with original keys. Dimensions are: 90 1/4 inches tall X 41 3/4 inches wide; 229.23 cm tall X 106.04 cm wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Missing brass keyhole inset. No other damages. Provenance: From a Northern Virginia collection.
