A Large Continental Earthenware Vase Late 19th century Flattened oval form with everted rim, mounted to the shoulder with large black-winged satyr figures, the body painted to show dogs encroaching on a panicking stag, raised on oval foot. (H: 30, W: 24, D: 9 in.) Provenance Collection of Robert & Barbara Safford, Vaux Hill, Audubon, Pennsylvania. Freeman’s, Philadelphia, September 25, 2013, lot 206. Acquired directly from the above sale. Private Collection, Long Island, New York. Condition report: Glaze chips along edge of foot, in-painted along front edge. Some minor glaze chips to winged figural handles.
