A SET OF TWELVE REGENCY MAHOGANY DINING CHAIRS CIRCA 1815 The rail backs centred by gilt-brass mounted tablets with neo-classical winged chimera above rope-twist mid-rails and drop-in seats, on sabre legs inlaid throughout with stringing Condition Report: Marks, scratches, chips, splits and abrasions consistent with age and use. Some traces of staining. At least three chairs with cracks to the top of the back uprights where the top rails join the sides, some with signs of later fixing. Some cracks and later fixing to the shaped triangular blocks covering the back leg/seat rail joints. A couple of chairs with faded back seat rail veneers, some fine cracks. Evidence of old worm to some seat rails. Upholstery with some marks. Please note we have not inspected the drop in seat frames beneath the upholstery and therefore can't comment on the condition and originality of this area.
