A CHINESE EXPORT BLACK AND GILT LACQUER CABINET EARLY 19TH CENTURY The swan-neck pediment centred by a foliate-carved cresting above a pair of doors revealing a fitted interior centred door with a glazed panel depicting a man and a woman in a formal garden, the projecting lower part with a pair of rising panels above a secretaire frieze drawer centred by a hinged panel, on cabriole legs terminating in paw feet 167cm high, 65cm wide, 64cm deep Condition Report: Marks, scratches, chips, knocks and abrasions consistent with age and use. Overall the lacquer has a matt patina to the exterior, glossy to the interior. There is some rubbing to the exterior gilt paintwork of the table base. The table base has painted decoration to the front and sides, the back is plain black lacquer. The table base has loose jointed legs with a crack across the top. The pediment has a removable giltwood carved lotus finial, a crack to the slot which it fits into. The cabinet lacking some turned handles.
