A Victorian diamond set, five star tiara, c.1870-1880, together with a Victorian diamond set star brooch/pendant, and a collection of alternative fittings, the tiara composed of a two row white metal frame with five detachable diamond set stars, the central three with a central cluster of European cut diamonds in cut down collets. The star points with rows of claw set and grain set old European cut, Swiss cut and rose cut diamonds, with blade edge bars between, all culminating in an old European cut diamond. The smallest outer two stars with diamond set radiating rays, to match the single star brooch pendant. All five stars with detachable brooch fittings and fold down or concealed bales, with assorted fittings to include three gilt metal en tremblant hair or fourcher fittings, three gilt metal hair fittings, one gold brooch fitting, two three-star bar brooch fittings. Tiara 60.66g Condition report: Would benefit from a specialist clean. Would benefit from some minor adjustments to the screw fittings on the tiara to ensure they sit correctly. Appears to be one three-star brooch, one three star bar brooch, three hair fittings for one, three hair fittings for the other. One additional brooch fitting. NB - the tiara has two styles of stars. The cardboard box was possibly supplied at the time the tiara frame was supplied, or a repair was carried out. x6 stars in total. The x3 centre stars match, the two outer stars and the additional star match. They are two brooches, each with three stars, assembled as a tiara. x3 silver and 18ct gold. x3 silver and 15ct gold.
