A Victorian archaeological revival Etruscan style diamond set brooch, c.1870, of lozenge shaped, shield form. A central raised boss, with an old European cut diamond, star set to the centre, a twisted wire and graduated border to a bloomed ground, with a raised rim and outer dot frame, with a twisted wire edge. Glazed locket verso deficient, to a brooch pin and 'C' catch. Tested as approximately 9ct gold. 40 x 29mm, 9.56g Condition report: Tarnished to the front. Scratches to the boss. Scratches to the reverse - more of the original colour to the reverse. Pin and 'c' catch working well.
