A Victorian sterling silver snuff box, by Edward Smith, c.1840, of rectangular serpentine form. Hand engraved acanthus scrolls to all sides, with a plain cartouche to the lid, with gilded interior. Birmingham 1842. 78 x 53 x 16mm, 93.94g, together with a smaller sterling silver example, by Ledsam and Vale, c.1830, of rectangular form with an engine turned lid, with chased bands and reeded sides, to a gilded interior.
