A matched pair of Moche mantle ornaments from Peru, ca. 400 - 700 AD. They are 1-1/2 inches and 1-5/8" in diameter and are made od gilded silver. Such ornaments were attached to the mantles of the elite as status symbols. The set comes mounted in a Riker case. (MO453)
