PROVENANCE: From waldorf, MD Private Collector. Measurements: Height: 31 cm, Diam.: 20 cm Chinese Qing Dynasty Porcelain Buddha Guanyin. Buddha is shown Avalokiteshvara posture with leg crossing and one leg dropping to a small lotus base and the right hand in front of the chest and the left hand lay on the thighs. Symbolic of the Buddha's entry into a state of profound meditation upon a lotus blossom throne position on a double lotus throne. Adorned with flowing silks of various garments and jewel ornaments, hair textures, crown, jewellery ornament are carved clear and exquisite. The underside unglazed, revealed the pale-creme ground revealed and dark greyish brown spotted firing marks and edge-cut foot rim.
