The most prominent of which, measuring 14mm across, and shows the wood underneath the lacquer. Some internal surface dirt. It depicts Ilya Muromets, a legendary bogatyr and ancient Kievan Rus folk hero. The Cyrillic reads: ? ?????, ? ????????, ?? ????. It reads: To Murom, to Chernihiv, to Kiev. The smaller rectangular box, in good condition, some losses to the lacquer, this one depicts Pushkin’s The Tale of Tsar Saltan The circular box has some crazing to the lacquer, more noticeable on the lid
