Painted to the top with a young scholar in a sampan saying farewell to his lover waving at him from the shore, the body decorated to one side with his successful return, the reverse with a scene from the Dream of the Red Chamber of young Baochai and her maids chasing butterflies, all between rows of pink studs and bands of blossom sprays around the foot and butterflies among melons, blossoms and foliage above, the top and sides pierced with cash-shaped apertures, 48cm H.
