A Japanese Satsuma earthenware teapot and cover by Taniguchi, Meiji period, of ovoid form with mouse spout and cat finial, painted and gilt with a figural band within Kutani style borders filled with butterfly, bird and floral vignettes divided by simulated brocade, iron red signature to base, height 15.4cm (handle broken and other chips and faults).
