BRONZE LOOP-HANDLED YOU VESSEL W.21cm H.29cm Description: This is a bronze loop-handled You vessel, with a straight mouth, oval body with a pendulous belly and high ring foot;cambered lid,a square pillar with a pointed top ,a loop handle with dragon design.The main motifs on the entire body are cloud and thunder patterns, raised snake and frog motifs on the abdomen supplemented by a "Qiequ" pattern and a double-shouldered battle-axe pattern; the upper abdomen is decorated with a snake pattern curling downwards on each side and a relief frog pattern in the middle, while the two snakes in the middle of the lower abdomen move backwards and upwards, echoing the snake pattern on the upper abdomen and pointing straight to the frog pattern, forming a pattern of four snakes and frogs, similar to the main motif of the bronze vessel during warring state period with a snake and frog pattern excavated in Gongcheng, Guangxi.You mouth is decorated with triangular cloud pattern, and a circle of "Qiequ" pattern near the abdomen. The cover is centered on the knob, with an openwork rib on each of the four sides, dividing the lid into four subdivisions. The two snakes in each cell are curled towards each other, interspersed with lizard, frog, turtle, snake, and bird patterns. The dragon's body is designed with a triangular pattern, with a scale pattern inside the triangle.
