Ross MacFadden, Toronto Note: John Charles Maggs was a painter of coaching scenes who ran a school of painting in Bath at his studio on 34 Gay Street. He was widely patronized by lovers of coaching, including Queen Victoria. Late Toronto businessman and avid art collector, Ross MacFadden, loved collecting these paintings and would often remark on the details in each. Mr. MacFadden was fascinated by Maggs who carried this painting's tradition well into the railway age. He also noted that the artist was most fond of depicting coaches in the snow, as represented by "The Stop Over." Estimate: $1,200—1,800
