AN EARLY BRONZE FIGURE OF VAJRAPANI, 14TH - 15TH CENTURY Western Tibet. Seated in dhyanasana atop a double lotus base, holding a vajra in one hand and a ghanta in the other. Wearing a dhoti and richly adorned in beaded jewelry. The face with an unusually peaceful expression, with almond-shaped eyes and full lips forming a benevolent smile. The hair arranged in a high chignon behind the tiara. Provenance: Marie-Françoise Fatton, Galerie Au Lion des Neiges, Sydney. French private collection, acquired from the above.
