A TOBI SEIJI QINGBAI 'CHILONG' EWER, YUAN DYNASTY China, 1279-1368. Of double-gourd form, applied with a strap handle in the form of a clambering chilong as well as a gently curved spout. The exterior covered overall in a pale Qingbai glaze with characteristic iron-brown splashes. Provenance: From a Dutch private collection. Condition: Good condition with minor wear and firing flaws, such as dark spots, kiln grit, and glaze recesses, the spout with a small old repair.
