A mixed group of four early 20th century Southeast Asian unmarked silver bowls, circa 1930 One Burmese possibly from Mandalay, with embossed panels including a seated figure on a dias, an eagle, a tiger slaying a man and a chinthe, all with textured ‘wallpaper’ background. Chased Burmese script underneath. Another example, Upper Thailand (Siam), probably Chiang Mai, with embossed figures below foliate scrolls against a fish scale background, Lanna script underneath. A small plain example with a textured upper band, probably Northern Thailand, chased script underneath. Together with a Sumatran small bowl, with embossed ‘hobnail’ centre between textured bands, chased underneath with Batak script (4).
