A mid-20th century Iranian (Persian) silver revolving ashtray, Isfahan circa 1950 probably the mark of Fadavi Pahlavi dynasty, circular form upon three splayed feet, the revolving hemispherical lid with a ball thumbpiece opening to reveal a hemispherical interior. The revolving section with chased monabbat-kari decoration of a central medallion within a lobed cartouche above a band of shaped vignettes reserved with arabesques. The base and legs with similar decoration. Marked with workshop mark and standard mark (۸۴) to one leg. Diameter – 17.5 cm / 7 inches Weight – 620 grams / 19.93 ozt
