An early 20th century American sterling silver and jadeite twin handled bowl, New York dated 1928 by Black Starr and Frost Of tapering circular form upon a waisted circular foot. The handles of carved jadeite of Chinese Dragons. The interior of the bowl engraved with a presentation inscription reading “To Charles Alexander Richmond and Sarah Locke Richmond with Affectionate Appreciation of The Faculty of Union College, November 24 1928.†Fully marked underneath. Length – 24.5 cm / 9.55 inches Weight – 706 grams / 22.7 ozt Charles Alexander Richmond (1862-1940) the 10th president of Union College Schenectady, New York (1909-28). He married Sarah Cooper Locke (1868-1950) 4th of June 1891.
