A George III sterling silver cream pail, London 1777, no makers mark, probably by William Plummer Of vase form upon a circular pedestal foot with beaded rims. A twisted opposable swing handle. The body with saw pierced decoration of slats with embossed fabric swags with rosettes, the under section with embossed stylised palm leaves. The base with an embossed band of rosettes. The side with a circular cartouche engraved with contemporaneous initials RMH in cursive script. Fitted with a removable blur glass liner. Marked to the undersection of body. Height – 14 cm / 5.5 inches Weight – 121 grams / 3.89 ozt
