A CHINESE GREEN-GROUND FIGURATIVE VASE.A CHINESE GREEN-GROUND FIGURATIVE VASE. Qing Dynasty. Of mallet form on a spreading foot with a trumpet neck, decorated with a figure crossing a bridge below overhanging rocks which extend up the neck to a small grotto where a figure sits playing a piper, the interior and base enamelled turquoise, six character iron red Qianlong mark to the base, 23.4cm H. Provenance: from the collection of Dame Marie Tempest (1864 – 1942), thence by descent to the present owner.
