A RARE SILVER `DRAGON´ COCKTAIL SHAKER
China, c. 1920. Consisting of three parts, the shaker´s body, the filter cup, and the top lid. The first two bear a hammer blow ground, the body is further decorated with an embossed and engraved dragon pursuing the magical pearl, the later showing an engraved monogram. The base stamped with two hallmarks and `NK´.
Condition: Superb condition with minimal surface wear.
Provenance: The collection of The Zelnik István Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above. Dr. István Zelnik, President of the Hungarian South and Southeast Asian Research Institute, is a former high-ranking Hungarian diplomat who spent several decades in Southeast Asia, building the largest known private collection of Asian art in Europe.
