A JADEITE AND A QUARTZ SEAL WITH BUDDHIST LIONS, REPUBLIC China, Republic period (1912-1949)

The jadeite seal of square form and surmounted by a Buddhist lion with one paw on a brocade ball and showing a fierce expression with the pierced open mouth revealing sharp fangs, the translucent stone of a white tone with greenish-gray inclusions; the quartz seal of rectangular form and also with a Buddhist lion, yet a much less fierce and rather emaciated beast, the seal faces left uncarved.

Condition: Very good condition with minor wear.
