AN EARLY JAVANESE KRIS PUTUT KEMBAR
Indonesia, East Java, 19th century. The straight iron gandar (blade) cast with twin figures praying to the bottom front and rear part of the ganja. Set with a metal Mendak studded with glass stones and a nicely carved wood Patra (handle), depicting a humanoid figure. The root wood and reddish wood pendok (sheath) with an appealing patina.
