Chinese Art A peachbloom globular vaseChina, Qing dynasty, 19th century. . Cm 23,00 x 42,00. Large monochrome vase with round body and high splayed neck. The surface, covered by a suggestive peach-colored glaze, shows in trasparency the image of a dragon amidst clouds chasing the flaming pearl. This type of porcelain, characterized by an extraordinary variety of shades, ranging from red to green, was highly appreciated by the court and the erudite classes throughout the eighteenth century. The lot proposed here, probably made in the last quarter of the nineteenth century, shows an apocryphal underglaze blue six characters mark of Kangxi (1661-1722) on the bottom .
