Ca. Ø58mm, ca. 118g, silver case with coined band, maker's mark RB, signed full plate movement, Pouzait balance, extremely rare double wheel Debaufre escapement with pirouette, jumping centre seconds, No.PG139, original enamel dial in very good condition with aperture for the mock pendulum, decentral time display, signed, gold hands, intact, overall in excellent condition. These pocket watches with 'pirouette' and mock pendulum are extremely rare. This watch, numbered PG139, is identical in construction to the two previously known watches PG 129 and 127. Du Bois made these watches in 2 versions, with pirouette and without pirouette. All these watches are rarities, but the ones with pirouette are the rarest. The sister watch with the movement number PG 127 was auctioned in 2012 (auction 86 by Dr. Crott) for ca. 30.000 and is presented in detail by 'Pieces of Time' in London (source: https:///go/RJL). Another gold example was auctioned in Geneva in 1994, formerly part of the Time Museum collection and sold for 27,600 Swiss Francs (source: https:///go/Oj6).
