A choice Gandharan stucco head from the Indus Valley, ca. 4th - 5th Century AD. This large example is 4 in. high and portrays a Bodhisattva with Urna, elongated ears and pierced lobes. He is wearing an ornate, gem-studded headdress that retains remnants of red and blue pigment typical of the Hadda types. In excellent condition, with good mineral deposits. Mounted on stand. Cf.
