Stefan Schwartz (Austrian 1924-1951), a patinated bronze of a young woman playing a lute and presented as a lamp c.1920, signed on the edges of the bronze base 'St. Schwartz', Cast from a model as a young woman seated on a stool by a lamp post entwined with garlands and playing the lute, with integral bronze base, marble plinth, with light fitments and old shade, 43.5 cm high to top of lamp post, approximate height to top pf shade 63 cmA few indentations, some old marks, age spots and areas of oxidisation and some paint splatter to bronze. Some chips and nicks to edges of marble plinth. Shade old, worn and silk torn and stained. Electricalponents have not been tested, and should be examined by a qualified electrician prior to any intended use. Re-wiring may/will be needed.
