Gädecke 270. - Sculptor in Hamburg and leading representative of the steel plastic in Germany. After a training as stonemason, Pfab studied at the HfBK since 1946 in the class of Edwin Scharff. The most important for him was the monumental sculpture defined by prismatic, cubic and spheric structures. His large oeuvre contains not only numerous works for the Public Space but also small-sized sculptures as well as design objects. Mus.: Schleswig (SHLM), Hamburg (Kunsthalle). Lit.: Vollmer, Der Neue Rump; Gädeke, Thomas; Pfab, Fotini, Jörn Pfab (1925-1986). Das Lebenswerk. WVZ der Skulpturen, Objekte und Druckgraphik. Ausst. Kat. Schloß Gottorf, Schleswig 1989.
