A LARGE FAMILLE ROSE 'CRANES AND PEONY' DISH, QIANLONG PERIODChina, 1736-1795. The shallow rounded sides rising from a short tapered foot to a broad everted rim. Finely painted in bright enamels with a large lingbi stone and flowering peonies as well as further flowers and rocks in a fenced garden, and to one side with a pair of cranes standing in grass amid bamboo and rockwork.Provenance: Goteborgs Auktionsverk, 1981, no. 1357 (according to the inscribed lot image and description from the catalog entry attached to the base).
