A MING-STYLE SWATOW BOWL, QING DYNASTYChina, 1644-1912. Rising from a short foot to rounded sides, decorated with polychrome enamels, depicting a bird and flower border to the exterior. The inside decorated to the center with the cursive character 'kui' and a flaming pearl border. The recessed base with an apocryphal two-character Yongle mark.Provenance: Holzapfel collection, Geneva, Switzerland. This lot was acquired by second generation members of the Holzapfel family after 1990 and has remained in the family ever since.Condition: Very good condition with some wear, and manufacturing imperfections, such as kiln grit, fritting and dark spots.Weight: 226.9 gDimensions: Diameter 13.2 cm
