An encre-de-chine and sepia plate with putti, Qianlong period, ca. 1780-90, China, An allegorical depiction of "Summer", after a design by Giovanni Battista Cipriani (1727-1785), which was engraved by Francesco Bartolozzi (1727-1815) and published in London by Pergolesi in 1782. The centre of the pate is drawn in sepia (brown), the border in black (encre-de-chine). D 19,5 cm, Good condition. No chips or hairlines and no restoration. Slight wear of the decoration.
