A very fine Chinese kesi robe with five-clawed dragons, 19th century, China, A superb condition large antique blue silk ground kesi-woven garment, featuring nine dragons on a busy background including bats and other auspicious symbols, the garment is heavily embellished with gold thread. L 150 cm, Superb condition. Slight wear from age and use. Some wear of the gold thread especially on the end of the sleeves and collar. Some light patches (stains) on the inside in the blue silk lining, mostly near the top (see photos). No tears or holes and no restoration. Provenance: this garment was collected in the 1950 s in Hong Kong and was kept very carefuly stored by the collector and descendants.
