Of soft octagonal form, the deep sides rising from a short circular foot and a gently flaring rim, brightly enamelled to the exterior with a scene of scholars at leisure in a terraced garden beside a lotus pond, one on horseback, one leaning on a staff, another reclining on an urn, a further scholar seated in a pavilion, all apanied by young attendants, surrounded by pine, plantain and rockwork with rocky mountains in the distance, all set between two bands of red foliate scroll around the rim and foot, the foot ring with further scrolls, decorated to the interior with eight large shou characters radiating around a central shou medallion, the base square seal mark in zhuanshu script. Period: 18th century. Diameter: 18 cm.
