Of gu form with spreading foot, wide midsection and trumpet mouth, decorated in the Chinese imari colour palette and gilt highlights with a design of pheasants perches on rockwork among towering peony and chrysanthemum blooms, all above a band of upright lappets and a border of tiranglework around the foot, the mouth rim with pendant ruyi heads enclosing lotus on a scrolling ground, the bases glazed.
