The top of the lid is chiseled with a landscape with characters and ladles and embellished with a jadeite jade plaque inscribed with a poetry by Qián Qǐ (錢起 - 710-782). It is further inscribed with a mark ‘大清’ (Dà qīng) combined with an unidentified mark. The base is naturalistically engraved with a lotus pond. Bears a mark: ‘China Sterling no 23’.
