A LARGE AND RETICULATED CHINESE EXPORT SILVER ‘BAMBOO’ TUREEN BY TACKHING OF HONG KONG CHINA, LATE QING DYNASTY, LATE 19TH CENTURY It rests on a gradient spread foot and has a round body surmounted by a foliate rim. It is topped by a dome-shaped lit with a bamboo-shaped finial. It also has a two-part and mobile handle shaped as a bamboo. Both the tureen and its cover are parcel reticulated, the tureen itself with a woven pattern. The top of the lids is finely chiseled with bamboo in low relief against a bee needle pattern. The base bears several marks including ‘Tackhing’ and ‘Made in Hong Kong’.
