A very rare Worcester teapot and cover, circa 1757-60A very rare Worcester teapot and cover, circa 1757-60The curious angular shape formed of two cone-like sections, the flat cover with an open bud as the finial, painted in blue with the 'Mansfield' pattern and its associated border, 9.5cm high, workman's mark (2)With the exception of an enamelled version at Williamsburg, the few recorded examples of this distinctive double-cone shape are all decorated with the Mansfield pattern in blue and white. A similar teapot from the Shand Kydd collection is illustrated by Henry Sandon, Coffee Pots and Teapots (1973), pl.85. Another is illustrated by Sandon and Spero, The Zorensky Collection (1996), p.412, no.543 and was sold by Bonhams on 16 March 2004, lot 285.
