宗喀巴大师是藏传佛教格鲁派的创立者、佛教理论家，被格鲁派认为是文殊菩萨的化身，故其造像以宝剑及经卷作标识。本尊宗喀巴造像结全跏趺坐于莲花座上，头戴通人冠，面相俊朗，双眉高挑，眼睑低垂，嘴角微扬，形容慈和。双手于胸前结说法印，并各牵一枝莲株，莲枝依手臂至肘，左肩置经书。身穿格鲁派传统僧服，衣纹刻画圆转刚柔，线条流畅，衣缘錾刻花卉纹。身下莲花座上的莲瓣饱满，联珠细密。通体鎏金，华贵庄严。
